Celebrate the Parks That Bring Us Together

Join us for the 12th annual Sunrise on the Mississippi, the Minneapolis Parks Foundation’s annual breakfast fundraiser, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

We invite you to a morning of inspiration, connection, and celebration in support of the Minneapolis park system and the incredible community that helps it thrive. Enjoy mingling on the pavilion patio, followed by a seated breakfast with remarks from Minneapolis park leaders and advocates. Join your friends and peers in championing the green spaces that make our city so special.

The Hawthorne Huddle, Youth Coordinating Board and Hue-MAN Partnership honors individuals and organizations for their work on the Northside and throughout Minneapolis.

If you would like to nominate someone or organization please contact us.

Most don’t get recognize for the little things that matter. Our honorees will appear for 2 months.


Community Spotlight

Danyika Leonard is one of the co- founders of Ujima Collective. She works as the Systems Strategist and Coalition Builder. She helps leaders develop strategies, build partnerships, and creates better opportunities for black communities.

Alex Leonard is also a co- founder at Ujima Collective. He works as the Education Strategist and Youth Development Leader. He is committed to improving black youth and helping the community succeed.
