I am grateful to see so many businesses, organizations and community members continuing to show up for Ward 5.
From back-to-school giveaways and violence prevention efforts to health resources, family activities and community events, these efforts remind us of the strength that exists when we care for one another and work together to fill the gaps.
As we celebrate these wonderful parts of our community, we must also protect them. Our residents deserve to feel safe in their homes, walking through their neighborhoods, supporting local businesses and enjoying community with their families.

Black Men’s Legacy Summit
Five years ago, 9000 Equities launched the first Black Men’s Legacy Summit to empower Black men with the confidence, education and actionable information needed to intentionally build generational wealth. Summit V continues that mission with a day focused on honest conversation, practical education, trusted resources, connection and action.
Past Summit discussions have explored homeownership and real estate, estate planning and wealth transfer, financial protection, leadership and mentorship, career and business opportunities, wellness, and the responsibility of building and protecting a legacy for future generations.
