Crime Prevention & Family Safety

Neighborhood safety is a program priority at HNC. We work with local law enforcement to implement community strategies to keep the neighborhood informed of issues as well as support National Night Out, the Can Do Book Giveaway, Clean Sweep, and other youth programs. Each monthly meeting includes a briefing of up-to-date crimes and successes occurring in the neighborhood. We provide a forum for people to talk about livability issues, usually with Police or a CPS specialist still in attendance at the meetings. Crime & Safety Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at Fairview Park.

Business Committee

Our strategy is simple: Help create and promote business, manufacturing, and enterprise in the Hawthorne Neighborhood and parts of West Broadway. We work to create effective support of small businesses in the area and solutions to connect businesses within Hawthorne to our residents. The Business Committee also identifies potential resources available and aids in marketing for Hawthorne Business.

Business Committee meetings are every other month as a joint Committee with the West Broadway Area Coalition. Networking events are held on the month there is no Business meeting. Call 612-529-6033 for more information.
