Please refrain from passing out informational materials during the meeting (unless you are a presenter).
Friends of the Hawthorne Huddle,
On January 4, 2018 the Hawthorne Huddle would to cordially invite you to a special community conversation on hope in North Minneapolis. A state-wide survey conducted by MPR News to gauge how hopeful Minnesotans are about the future found that the most optimistic demographic in the state are African Americans. In a state noted for its socioeconomic disparities, we want to start conversations to find out what this hope is made of.
Do you agree that African Americans represent abundant hope? How does hope show itself in your neighborhood, at work, and among your friends and family? What can the majority culture learn from the resilience of North Minneapolis on hope in the midst of hardship?
The Hawthorne Huddle will be held from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room at Fairview Park, 621 29th Avenue North. A continental breakfast will be available at 7:15 a.m.
